Kalkaska County uses the enhanced 911 system Dial 911 for all emergencies
      KALKASKA COUNTY ROAD CONSTRUCTION FOR 2007
  Construction has switched over to Phase 2

131 Closed between twin lakes road and Mancelona

Starting in the spring of 2007 US-131 between the village of Kalkaska and the northern Kalkaska County Line (9 miles north of Kalkaska) The state of Michigan will be repaving US-131 in Two Phases.  Phase 1 will close down US-131 From Kalkaska to Twin Lake Road and the estimated time frame is mid April to September.  Phase 2 will close down US131 from Twin Lake Road to the north county line and the estimated time frame is September through October. Also during this Phase 2 time frame M-72 will be resurfaced from US-131 to the eastern county line. The detour route for this construction period will be county road 612, County road 571, Twin Lake road and Elder road.  Although all business with in the construction area will be accessible.
