Coldsprings Township is a township located in Kalkaska County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 1,449.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 93.9 km˛ (36.3 mi˛). 99.1 km˛ (34.4 mi˛) of it is land and 4.9 km˛ (1.9 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 5.07% water.
\nAs of the census of 2000, there are 1,449 people, 595 households, and 443 families residing in the township. The population density is 16.3/km˛ (42.1/mi˛). There are 1,349 housing units at an average density of 15.1/km˛ (39.2/mi˛). The racial makeup of the township is 99.41% White, 0.00% African American, 0.49% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.21% from other races, and 0.93% from two or more races. 1.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 595 households out of which 24.7% have children under the age of 19 living with them, 66.6% are married couples living together, 5.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.4% are non-families. 20.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.44 and the average family size is 2.79. In the township the population is spread out with 20.6% under the age of 19, 6.7% from 19 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 29.0% from 45 to 64, and 17.7% who are 65 years of age or older.
